Disclaimer, I did not eat these doughnuts, though I wanted too! I often say, if I lived in Europe, I would be a twig. Every time we go overseas for holiday I am good for 5 – 10 pounds coming off; even though I am enjoying a pastry or two a day, and eating full-fat filled meals with great wine. I blame it on all the walking I do when I am there. Everything is so damn beautiful that I find myself walking everywhere or taking the train. Even though I was working this trip, I managed to walk a lot and despite eating a lot of great food, I lost a pound! I wish our home was as walkable – Okay, let’s see how I did with this Fit at Fifty Week Eleven!
I behaved on the flights by walking as much as I could, and passing on the undesirable meals that was passed out. Don’t need to eat it just because it is there. As well, I drank a lot of water on the plane – fully hydrated!
Overall, I felt really good with how I managed everything during a trip overseas for work.

End of week: 148
Successes:
- Ate a lot of great food in London; but stuck to portion control and enjoyed a little of this and that.
- Made sure I walked on my flights instead of sitting for 10 hours.
- Did not eat everything that was passed out on the flights.
- Lost a pound!
Failures:
- Did not stick to the meal planning I would like to start following; but not killing myself over it this time.
- Overslept – did not eat three meals a day which is a goal.
- Did not do my everyday yoga.
What I ate and how I moved:
Sunday – flying day
Moving: walked 1.01 miles and 45 min spin
Breakfast: 3 cups black coffee, kale sautéed with shallots and chilies with 1 poached egg, and 1 slice of Dave’s Killer Bread
Lunch: chicken sandwich on 2 slice of Dave’s Killer Bread with a 1 tablespoon of Dijon
Dinner: ate at the Virgin Atlantic Club and did not hold back, 1 gin and tonic and 2 glasses of pinot noir
Snack:
Water: 6 glasses (16 oz each)
Monday
Moving: Waked 3.43 miles
Breakfast: 1 cup of black tea and blueberry greek yogurt on plane
Lunch:
Dinner: ate at Honey & Co in London and went all out and 1 1/2 ales
Water: 4 glasses (16 oz each)
Tuesday
Moving: Walked 5.5 miles
Breakfast: 2 cup black coffee
Lunch: Baked eggs with tomatoes and peppers, toast and 1 glass of Rose
Dinner: ate at Roti Chai and went all out and 2 Indian beers and one G&T
Snack: 1 flat white (2 shots of espresso with a slight dusting of whole milk)
Water: 5 glasses (16 oz each)
Wednesday
Moving: Walked 6.8 miles
Breakfast: 2 black coffees
Lunch: shared a seafood paella with Lenny and 1 glass of red wine
Dinner: pizza with friends and 3 glasses of red wine
Snack: cheese plate with a glass of red wine
Water: 4 glasses (16 oz each)
Thursday
Moving: Walked 2.96 miles
Breakfast: 1 cup black coffee
Lunch: 1 small piece of pork belly with a couple bites of beans and potato mash, fist sized frisee salad
Dinner: ate at Bang Bang Vietnamese restaurant and went all out and 2 G&Ts and 1 beer
Water: 6 glasses (16 oz each) and 3 glasses of black tea
Snack:
Water: 5 glasses (16 oz each)
Friday
Moving: Walked 2.15 miles
Breakfast: 2 cup black coffee
Lunch: mushroom quiche and a flat white at Gails
Dinner: ate out with friends and went all out – pumpkin curry and 3 glasses of red wine
Snack: cheese plate and 1 glass of red wine
Water: 4 glasses (16 oz each)
Saturday
Moving: Walked 5.06 miles
Breakfast: 1 flat white and 2 cups black coffee, pastries from Gails (soho bun and 1/2 croissant) yogurt with black currants
Lunch:
Dinner: Huge cheese plate with baguette and 3 glasses of red wine
Water:5 glasses water (16 oz each)
