I have been dying to get back into blogging, writing, cooking and shooting for the past two months. Ahh, I wish life would slow down a bit. We are not having Thanksgiving at our home as we will be going to my sister’s house for the over indulging marathon. Every year I say the same thing, next year I want to have the holidays at our home; then I find us packing up the car for a long drive to Nevada or hopping back onto a plane heading to Boston. I decided to pretend I was going to be cooking at home and put together a list for Thanksgiving Menu Planning. Just maybe, you will make one or two of our favorites to share with your loved ones.
Nibbles: I have to admit the past year I have been eliminating appetizers before a dinner party. I have been tending to serve a bowl of olives as I wanted our guests to devour everything else. If I was cooking this Thanksgiving at home I would definitely lay out a few of these favorites with a bottle of bubbles to start the evening.
Turkey: I only have one turkey recipe and it is for a dry brined turkey. I love this way of making a turkey as the skin really crisps up and the meat stays moist.
Sides: Honestly for me I am all about the sides. I usually have a nibble of turkey and fill my plate with sides. I do like a good turkey sandwich the next day but bring on all the potatoes and gravy the day of.
Extras: All the little things that wrap it all up nicely.
Dessert: Always save some room for dessert especially at our house
Mini Pumpkin Tarts – vegan and GF
Leftovers: besides making the honorary turkey sandwich here are couple more ideas of how to use up the turkey.
