Grilled Bleu Cheese Pizza

Grilled Bleu Cheese Pizza

Sharing is caring!

I have been busy working on another freelance photography project for Lindsay Olives.  It has been a wonderful opportunity not to mention very fun.  Did I mention how delicious the recipes have been?  I think of it as work with fringe benefits.  It did take a while to get this shot just right, as I am a perfectionist and redid it a few times.  I wanted to get the right mood and I nailed it last week.  Enough about photography, let’s talk about how delicious this Grilled Bleu Cheese Pizza is.

Grilled Bleu Cheese Pizza

The recipe I was working on for them was a grilled bleu pizza, which is loaded with Lindsay Greek Kalamata Olives as well as an abundance of Shiitakes and blue cheese.  This recipe is filled with very complex flavors, from the earthiness of the mushrooms to the tangy cheese, and the Kalamata olives tied the recipe together.  I loved the deep purple color of the kalamata olives and the slightly salty taste, like the Mediterranean sea kissing your lips.  I wanted the mood of the photos to reflect how sultry the actual recipe was.

We are huge fans of the grilled pizza.  Grilling pizza is a great way to take the heat out of the kitchen for the evening during hot summer months.  Don’t be afraid to try your hand at it as it is really easy, and very fun.  I love how the pizza picks up a nice smoked flavor from the grill, it is like going to the best wood-burned pizzeria.

To make your meatless dinner complete serve this recipe with a simply dressed salad.  There is so much flavor in the pizza that a bowl of greens with a squeeze of fresh lemon and olive oil, is all you need.  Buon Appetito!

Sigh....pizza :^) I'll need to get my carnivore hubby to fire up the grill for (vegetarian) me!

What a great idea! I honestly never thought to grill a pizza. It's definitely something I'm going to try (or have John try, as he's the grill master) before the weather turns.

I'm also going to attempt to make my own pizza dough this fall. Wish me luck! The kids start school this week, so I'm excited to get back into a cooking, baking and photographing routine.

Jackie - once you try grilling pizza on the grill, you will never want to go back. It is like eating out at a great pizzeria that wood-fires their pies! I have an easy pizza dough recipe on the site, it turns out perfectly every time! ~ Denise

I'm a big fan of this combo of ingredients, and it's one of my fave pizza options. Have you ever tried it with marinated goats cheese? Delish!
