I need this Coffee Talk! The past couple weeks have been so weird. We were traveling like crazy for work, then we had Thanksgiving and came home with the hopes of being home.
How have you been? Did you have a great Thanksgiving filled with lots of love or family drama? We spent the holiday with family, and it was very nice. We did over eat though!
There seems to be so much sadness happening right now in our immediate circle. A friend lost her mother, unexpected, the week of Thanksgiving. We had to fly to Boston as Lenny’s dad was admitted to the hospital; he is still there but making progress. Then I just heard that another friend is going in for a biopsy. It is the holidays, damn it, and we should feel joy, not sadness. I decided, yesterday afternoon, that we have to snap out of it or it is going to consume us. We decorated the house, I did some holiday shopping and trying to ring in some cheer for the next two weeks.
Being at a hospital for five days gave me a lot of time to catch up on some blog reading that I was behind on. I love Heidi’s Friday Faves and Bree’s Friday Happy Mail; both bring joy to my life. Check them out!
We keep toying with the idea of getting a dog someday, and this article makes us want to even more! Do you own dog? What is your favorite kind? That is one area we do not agree on. Lenny likes mini doberman pinchers and I would like a fluffy cuddly dog of some sort.
I would love to make this Sparkle Cake for the holidays, or maybe my birthday!
Stumped as to what kind of cookies to be baking this holiday season? Your one stop recipe hop is Two Peas and Their Pod. Maria has more cookie options than anyone we know!
All next week I am going to be sharing on Instagram our favorite cookbooks for 2017 – great last minute gift ideas. I have ordered a few of them for loved ones and cannot wait for them to enjoy as much as we do. Be sure to follow along on our Chez Us IG account as well as Denise’s IG account.
Chai Hot Coco is the best! If you are feeling naughty add a shot of bourbon or rye.
I often listen to Sia when I shot, and now that we are full into holiday music we have been enjoying this holiday song by her.
Anthropologie has the best stocking stuffers.
Hoping everyone has a lovely week!
