TWD: Blueberry Sour Cream Ice Cream

Blue berry Ice Cream, TWD, Tuesdays With Dorie, Homemade Ice CReam

Dolores of Chronicles in Culinary Curiosity, must had known that I was going to have to be eating cold food and smooth items, the next few days! She picked the perfect challenge for the Tuesdays With Dorie crowd! I have memories of Blueberry ice cream, not sure of the memory; but, I do remember being about 4 and loving blueberry ice cream. As soon as I heard about this challenge, that memory (the one I don’t remember but do remember) came rushing to mind. As well, we LOVE blueberries in our house so I knew this would be a huge hit!

This ice cream was so easy to make. I usually make custard based ones, so this was a nice change. I used everything, organic, from the blueberries all the way down to the freshly picked Meyer Lemon! I did not add as much sugar as the recipe calls for and I thought it came out just sweet enough. As well, I did freeze some of it as popsicles; but, they did not last past this little photo shot! The end result, very creamy and fresh tasting with the lemon added, very much summer.

I have never tasted meyer lemons but they must be delicious. Great idea to freeze some ice cream as popsicles. Perfect as snack on hot summers day.

What a fun picture! and what a blueberry pig!! ;) We love blueberries too. Have you guys tried growing blueberry plants? They might do well in your area!

yup, it’s the darn Firefox browser. I just learned that other people are having trouble with firefox too! Will have to visit you on Safari until Firefox gets their repairs in order!

We both loved this ice cream a lot, but I think a Popsicle version would have tasted even better! Gotta get me some of those!
